Firstly, Easter 2026 SASSA Old-Age Grants will be lower than many had been expecting. This became reality when the National Treasury approved official increases in the 2026 Budget Speech. Government tied them to inflation at 3.4%, while last year’s increases were 4.8%.

EASTER 2026 SASSA OLD-AGE GRANTS  

Therefore, South African Social Security Agency increases for the year amount to just R80 for the country’s four-million old-age beneficiaries:

  • Old-Age Grants 60 to 74 years old – R2 400 (up from R2 320)
  • Old-Age Grants 75 years and older – R2 420 (up from R2 340)
